It has been observed that symptoms related to toxicity may be exacerbated with the disturbance of mercury amalgam.  Galvanic testing involves a comfortable process where a potentiometer measures the galvanic current generated by dissimilar metals in each metal restoration (filling in each tooth).  The results of the testing determines the sequence of removal of old mercury fillings according to corners – or quadrants – of your dentition beginning with the largest battery first.  The testing is accomplished before mercury removal is scheduled.  This service is offered as a courtesy and is particularly important for those with considerable health compromises.
